PYNCH SOMEBODY ELSE

Following up their shiny Speedy Wunderground single 'Disco Lights', which arrived alongside a wicked 'Pynch Your Lights Out Dub' version of the track by Orla Carey, rising indie outfit Pynch have returned with a nostalgic new cut. Opening with a propulsive krautrock beat and a snare so sharp you could cut yourself on it, 8-bit video game-inspired synthesizers bleat in a glimmering sequence behind vocalist, guitarist and synth player Spencer Enok's, candid lyrics. Channelling the angsty guitar-lead alt-rock of Yuck alongside the faintly emo leanings of Los Campesinos! circa 2008, there's something comforting in the honesty of the track as Enok reels of a list of his desires before openly confessing "I just want to feel something real". [Photo Credit: Holly Whitaker] -Holly Mullineaux
